*Demetrius is the first bishop of Alexandria whose reign can be securely dated *After Justus, Eusebius lists 12 Jewish bishops who are said to have all reigned between 107 and 135. This is unlikely as all of them would have been short lived. Bauckham suggest that these twelve bishops were actaully presbyters under Justus (Jude and the Relatives of Jesus in the Early Church, 73)
**Mark was the first gentile bishop of Jerusalem (Renamed Aelia Capitolina in 130 by Hadrian). After the Bar Kokhba revolt (132-125/6), Jews were forbidden to enter Aelia Capitolina.
***After Mark, Eusebius lists twelve Gentile bishops between Mark and Narcissus, all said to have reigned between c. 156 and 185. None of their possible reigns can be securley dated. Narcissus is the first Gentile bishop of Aelia of about whoem we have any substantive information

†Indicates martyrdom or death as a confessor in exile
